Do you recognize me? Sometimes I forget who I am. It's a lifelong problem, soon to be solved by death.

Since my typing hand no longer cooperates with my thinking brain, I've decided I can cut and paste some excerpts from diaries.

I fell in love with a poet who lived in the woods, March 24, 2018

He

shared silence,
the rush of thought,
the landscape re-invented-
the world agreeing

my map finds you in three places at once.
dreams returned me
to places your gestures evoked
and multiplied

so much understanding-
devoured by a kiss?
or captured and stashed?
gifts of spirit- no, not mine-

before the storm, descending
by thunder near, startled ,
two seekers laughing-
paths diverge, after all

Me

Paths diverge
Branches open the sky

I swallowed your poem, craving contact with this perhaps not so fragile coming together of things under things. Being a poem it was not destroyed by my appetite, still offered itself, accompanied by memory of belly, charge of lips meeting tide meeting rock meeting legs overlapping.
